Provides compliance with South African B-BBEE legislation on preferential procurement

In South Africa, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) was designed to ensure economic transformation and redistribution within the South African corporate sector, to the benefit of previously disadvantaged individuals.

Businesses are incentivised to use the services of businesses with favourable B-BBEE scores. It is important for a business to track their spend on procurement against qualifying suppliers.
The Preferential Procurement extension is designed to help you score your suppliers, and keep track of their B-BBEE compliance.

This app allows you to classify your vendors according to legislated characteristics, including
  • B-BBEE scorecard
  • B-BBEE compliance level
  • percentage black ownership
  • percentage black female ownership
  • percentage ownership of designated groups
Expiry dates and certifying organisation are recorded for the vendor.
Procurement spend is tracked against each supplier, from which statistical reporting can be produced for input into the business's B-BBEE scorecard evaluation.
